The price comparator compared the prices of a basket of basic needs at 15 supermarkets every month. The supermarkets cooperated voluntarily. In recent months, fewer and fewer supermarkets were willing to participate voluntarily in the price comparator. There are too few supermarkets left to reach the target. That is why the price comparator is stopped.
Unkobon is consulting with OLB and with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate on the possibilities the BES Price Act offers to keep the basic basket affordable on Bonaire.
